Boutiquey Palihouse Opening New Hotel in 1927 SaMo Building

New, 14 comments

Palihouse is expanding again with a new hotel in Santa Monica, scheduled to open this summer. The 36-room "boutique lodge" (which might explain those antlers) is moving into the landmarked 1927 home of the former Embassy Hotel Apartments on a residential stretch of Third Street north of Wilshire. Developers Paligroup retained the hotel lobby's original ceiling frescos, tile floors, fireplace, and glass doors, which will lead on to a patio cafe/cocktail bar. The four room-types feature "an authentic pied à terre layout, complete with fully equipped kitchens, separate vanity rooms, walk-in closets," and custom furniture. The smallest rooms are about 300 square feet, and the largest two-bedroom, two-story suite is almost 3,000. Rates will range from $350 to 1,150 per night. Paligroup also owns the Palihouse Holloway in West Hollywood and the Palihotel on Melrose.
