New Views of Frank Gehry Tower in SaMo: Lots of Ped Action

New, 36 comments

The Frank Gehry-designed tower proposed for Ocean Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard is one of the most exciting Santa Monica projects anyone's seen in a long time--ArchDaily has now dug up a few more renderings, thank heavens. The 22-story tower, being developed by M. David Paul Associates and the Worthe Real Estate Group, will come complete with a hotel, condos, retail, and an adjacent museum, and will feature a heavy street presence with oodles of sidewalk dining (and maybe a Boa, judging by the renderings from Gehry's office). The project will handle the "car-centric lifestyle of the West Coast" with a three-story underground garage with 460 spaces. Community meetings on the project start this month and don't be surprised if Osh runs out of pitchforks.
