1960 Post & Beam by Ray Kappe in Brentwood Comes With "Secret Computer Room"

New, 16 comments

Every so often, you'll see a listing that hypes a home's secret speakeasy or panic room. But the listing for this Ray Kappe-designed post and beam in Brentwood is the first one we've ever encountered that touts a "secret computer room hidden behind a bookcase." Which naturally leads one to wonder what sort of mysterious things have been covertly computed there; sadly, the listing does not elaborate. Located on a quarter-acre lot not far from Crestwood Hills Park, the mid-century modern also features four bedrooms, three baths, walls of glass, two fireplaces, and canyon views. Last sold in 1991 for $895,000, the 3,626-square-foot residence is now asking $2.499 million.
