Development Battles

Good lord, the City Planning Commission's first hearing on the huge Millennium Hollywood plan (which would surround the Capitol Records Building with two very tall towers and a lot of public plaza space) started early this morning and is still going on. Sometime in the midst of it all, however, mayoral candidate/Hollywood City Councilmember Eric Garcetti, who'd previously been sort of non-committally pro on the matter, released a statement saying he's definitely against the project: He called it "out of scale with the Hollywood landscape."
