It's not just flippers who can smell profit in the improving housing market. Citing rebounding home prices, builder MBK Homes just broke ground on an 81-unit "townhome community" in Signal Hill called Aragon. The press release informs us that "the community's Spanish design is reminiscent of the early California architecture prevalent to the area." And here's a fun fact: Aragon is nearly equidistant from both LAX and John Wayne airports (proximity to airports doesn't seem like a great way to sell the livability of a neighborhood, but ok). There are five floor plans for the three-story townhouses, with two and three bedroom versions, priced in the mid-$300,000 range and expected to appeal to first-time buyers. For that, you get to own in a gated community of 3.2 acres with rec room and spa; stainless steel appliances and solar panels come standard to the units. MBK plans to have a model unit ready to show next month.
