People flock to Mission San Juan Capistrano every spring to see the swallows who fly north to nest there. But in recent years the birds haven't shown up, leading one birder to try to seduce the fickle birds back: "Last year Brown set up speakers and blared sweet songs for weeks to seduce the birds. It seemed to work some. Enthusiasts spotted a nesting colony not far away. Brown is trying it again this time around." [SCPR]
