A couple in Palos Verdes Estates bought the city-owned parkland adjacent to their property, but their attempts to rezone the land and build on it have been thwarted by the city council. They "also want to erect fencing around the property to prohibit public access on the once-public park. In addition, they want after-the-fact permits for an illegally built series of retaining walls." The drama is part of a long-running disagreement over the land between the homeowners, neighbors, city, and school district. [Daily Breeze]
