Pop star Katy Perry is apparently so desperate to sell her house in Laurel Canyon that she's willing to ? not make a profit on it. The poor girl. The DeWitt Residence was built in 1925 and designed by Charles H. Kyson for early Hollywood developer CF DeWitt (the always-wonderful Paradise Leased has more). Perry and then-husband Russell Brand bought the house in 2011 from securities-fraud-perpetrating ex-National Lampoon CEO Daniel Laikin--they paid $6.5 million. Now TMZ hears that Perry, having had no luck trying to sell it off on the downlow, is going to be forced to list it publicly and probably take a hit on the price. She's been hoping for about $8 million, but when it's listed on the MLS in a few weeks, "she'll reduce the asking price to the mid 7s." And even then, "sources say she'll definitely sell it if someone offers in the high 6s."
