With the evergreen marketing slogan "Why rent when you can buy," 26 condos will hit the market in Glendale on Saturday. Located a couple blocks from the Americana at Brand mall, the Residences at Jackson Glen bring "urban-styled living" to downtown Glendale. As the Jackson Glen rep notes, this is "definitely not your parent's Glendale anymore." The mixed-use project also includes three office/commercial spaces, which can in turn be subdivided into smaller units. Of the 26 units, all but one (a 700-square-foot one-bedroom) are two-bed, two-bath, and the building has a "lushly landscaped courtyard" with an outdoor fireplace. Prices for the two-bedroom units--which are all 1,200-square-feet or more and feature recessed lighting, "designer-selected flooring," stainless steel appliances and black granite countertops in the kitchens, and walk-in closets--start at $429,000. A project of TAAG Investment Management, Jackson Glen has its grand opening on Saturday morning. It's just one in a huge glut of housing projects on the way in Glendale.
