Construction begins next month on a handsome new bridge over Santa Anita Avenue (pictured), which will carry Gold Line trains into Arcadia on the line's new extension in the San Gabriel Valley. "The bridge over Santa Anita means that the Gold Line will be able to travel between the existing Del Mar station in Old Pasadena and the new Arcadia station entirely grade-separated with no street crossings," according to The Source, "It should be a quick ride." There will be 20 bridges built for the 11.5-mile extension and we already know Colorado Boulevard is getting an art deco-ish showpiece; the basket bridge over the 210 is already finished.
