Threatening Sign Triplex Sells, Help Clean Our Hillside Stairs

New, 3 comments

MID-WILSHIRE: The Mid-Wilshire triplex first noticed back in 2011 for its sign reading "No drugs, no drug dealers, no loitering, no prostitution, no weapons, no drinking of alcoholic beverages," sold earlier this month above asking. Maybe to a drunk, drug-dealing, prostitute wielding a bow and arrow? A tipster calls it a "former party house" and says the unpermitted one-bedroom above the garage "looked like a crime scene from 'Cops.'" Still, it did just fine for itself--it hit the market in late December asking $859,000 and sold for $875,000. [Curbed Inbox]

FRANKLIN HILLS: Councilmember Tom LaBonge is hosting a historic public staircase cleanup this Saturday, and some of those things have hosted some serious debauchery, so they could probably use it. The day will start at 9 am with a reading by Charles Fleming, who wrote Secret Stairs: A Walking Guide to the Historic Staircases of Los Angeles. If you have a cleaning addiction or just like public stairs, meet at the top of Radio Walk at Franklin Avenue and Radio Street. [Curbed Inbox]
