There's been some early number crunching to find out how the new high-occupancy toll lanes are performing on the 10 Freeway. They just opened this past weekend and hrough the Monday morning commute, just over half of ExpressLanes users were carpoolers with three or more people per vehicle (meaning they could use those lanes without paying); speeds in the new lanes "remained above 45 miles per hour 100 percent of the time."
