Ballsy Clear Channel Outdoor has sent a letter to the mayor and others warning that if Los Angeles tries to make them turn off their electronic billboards (as mandated by a recent court ruling), "it would be exposed to liability to Clear Channel for the fair market value of such signs, which substantially exceeds $100 million." They tucked a legal claim in with the letter and meanwhile billboard companies have been throwing money at various local measures and candidates that might help them keep their precious blinky signs alive.
