WEST HOLLYWOOD: The 63-year-old Irv's Burgers shack was shut down recently to make way for a new cafe and store. But Irv's devotees, your Christmas wishes may be coming true--rumor has it that the Hong family, which own Irv's, has found a new home for the restaurant. If the intel is correct, the new Irv's will set up at the former Biscuit Cafe, near Laurel Hardware on Santa Monica Boulevard.
SANTA MONICA: Satdha, a new vegan Thai restaurant, is now open on Lincoln. Chef Gunn Pankum is offering up inventive meals like beet-dyed noodles; catfish eggplant; and a dish that combines coconut, shiitake, bacon, and ginger wrapped in chard leaves.
ECHO PARK: There will soon be a new sandwich place for hungry hipsters: Trencher on Portia Street. Located in an unassuming blue building, the restaurant is named after a Medieval plate made of stale bread. There will be brisket sandwiches and tofu banh mi.
