Musician Matthew Sweet Selling Mid-Century Edward Fickett House In Nichols Canyon

New, 4 comments

Pop-rocker Matthew Sweet, best known to '90s kids for his album Girlfriend and its eponymous single (but more recently for collaborations with Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles), recorded his last several albums at what he calls Lolina Green Studios, the private recording studio he's set up for himself at his (and his wife Lisa's) house in the Hollywood Hills. That house is quite a gem--it was designed by local and underrated modern architect Edward Fickett in 1958, supposedly as a model home for the Fickett tract in northern Nichols Canyon, and comes with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two chimneys, a two-car garage, and a pool. And the Sweets are now selling: their house hit the market as a fixer ("needs TLC") a couple days ago, asking $1.68 million, and already has a sale pending.
