"Yorklandia" Highland Park House Sells For $86K Above Asking

New, 8 comments

We first noticed this listing back in November when the three-bedroom, two-bathroom Highland Park house hit the market asking $689,000--not so much because of the house itself, but because of how it was described. According to the listing, this is the kind of "sanctuary" at the "gateway to Yorklandia," where you and your family will bury your wishes in the backyard or find a "secret attic bedroom of surprises" at the top of the stairs. We don't know that we'd want to find secret surprises in our attics EVER, but that apparently worked for someone. It worked so well that the house sold this week at $775,000--$86,000 over its asking price. The house changed hands twice back in 2006 for a lot less.
