Southern Vermont Avenue, the stretch in Gardena near the Hustler Casino, is probably not anyone's idea of a tranquil place to retire. But it's way better than the streets. PATH Ventures, a local developer that provides housing for the homeless, and San Diego-based developer Affirmed Housing announced they will start work in April on Vermont Villas, a new affordable development for senior veterans. The 79-unit, four-story project will also serve special needs low-income seniors. Affirmed recently completed another senior housing project in Chinatown--the one with the robot parking garage--and PATH has done the same in Hollywood and NoHo.
