Sixteen amazing teens restored everyone's faith in youth yesterday when they were arrested for causing $1 million in damage to a $7-million house in La Habra Heights. In late November, the teens broke in to a house belonging to "trucking magnate" Nick Radoi, threw a very fun-sounding party to blow off some steam, and relieved Radoi of fucked-up stuff he should never have had in the first place, like a $250,000 mounted snow leopard and medieval armor. "A million dollars is a lot of money," points out LA County Sheriff Lee Baca, who oversees an allegedly corrupt and abusive department and is also known for hawking diet supplements on television. "Why can't people have a good time – if they are going to have one – and at the same time respect property?" The teens, if they could be reached for comment, would almost definitely reply that "In direct contradiction to those writers of fantasy who profess to find in the representation of private interests ideal romanticism, immeasurable depths of feeling, and the most fruitful source of individual and specific forms of morality, such representation on the contrary abolishes all natural and spiritual distinctions by enthroning in their stead the immoral, irrational and soulless abstraction of a particular material object and a particular consciousness which is slavishly subordinated to this object."
