Expensive Empire at Kings Rentals Getting Snapped Up in WeHo

New, 12 comments

Move-ins are now on at Empire at Kings, the new 25-unit apartment building near Kings and Fountain in West Hollywood. Local developer Empire Property Group, which is also building a 23-unit building in Bel Air right now, purchased the property (with two single-family houses) in 2011, cleared the site, and put up this modern thing, with 25 one-, two-, and three-bedrooms. (Neighbors got nasty when the project was approved back in 2011.) As befitting a fancy new WeHo apartment building, there are tons of features, including floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings, balconies, gas fireplaces, walk-in closets, free DirectTV, a rooftop terrace, a fitness room, secure parking garage, and ... "a professional pet-washing room" (do they provide the professionals?). There are about 10 units left in the building now--all the one-bedrooms are rented out--with a handful of units earmarked for low-income folks. Two-bedroom units go for $3,900 to $5,600; three-bedrooms run from $7,000 to $7,500.
