PALMS: Our mouths remain agape over Palms Point, the so-beyond-terrible-it's-almost-good mixed-user at Motor and Palms, but it wasn't so hideous it couldn't attract a retail tenant. Wild Thistle, a Celtic eatery, is almost done with build-out and should open soon. Palms is slowly getting a few interesting restaurants, Eater notes.
WEST HOLLYWOOD: The Church Key, a "glorious" new addition to Sunset, has opened for business. American dim sum is on the menu; a quite, tasteful interior, with a muted, monochromatic color scheme warms up the whole place. Sorta Eveleigh-ish (which is right next door).
CULVER CITY: A pretty beautiful coffee place just opened in the Hayden Tract, not far from the Helms complex and the Expo Line. Bar Nine Collective has low countertops, pretty wood accents, and "what might be the most elegant espresso and coffee brewing in the city, thanks to the state-of-the-art Modbar system."
