NoSoPa is becoming a thing! The area we're christening North South Park--love it, use it--is about to have more cranes than a Florida swamp and now there are even more coming with fresh plans for a 27-story tower at the southwest corner of Eighth and Olive. Rumors percolated recently that someone was in escrow to buy the 16,000-square-foot lot, which Joe's Parking had put up for sale for about $14 million. Well, looks like the deal went through--the planning department already has paperwork filed for a 27-story mixed-user with 363 apartments and 10,000 square feet of retail, reports Building Los Angeles. The project will rise across the street from Carmel Partners's long and low Eighth & Grand mixed-user--the one with the Whole Foods--that's currently under-construction. With nearly half a dozen projects planned or under-construction (e.g. 888 Olive, Eighth and Hope) within a five-minute walk, NoSoPa (it's going to happen) is hot as Hades.
