Eighth and Hope Tower Gets a Crane, Los Feliz Stairs Light Up

New, 9 comments

DOWNTOWN: There was crane action spotted today at the under-construction Eighth and Hope apartment tower by SkyscraperPage poster WonderlandPark. The 22-story project will have 290 units and 5,000 square feet of retail when it opens in a year or two. The project has also been searching for a name--developer Wood Partners recently conducted a poll and Glass House Los Angeles came out on top. No confirmation that'll be the actual name, though. LOS FELIZ: The public St. Andrews Stairway, north of Franklin, has been around since the 1920s and it's believed there were plans back then to light it up (apparently quashed by the Great Depression). Just a few decades later (eight and a half), the stairway has gotten its lamp posts--they'll be lit for the first time in a public ceremony on Monday at 4 pm. [Curbed Inbox]
