Clifton's Coming Alive in DTLA, Venice's Hot New Thing, LA's Most Expensive Restaurants

New, 10 comments

DOWNTOWN: While developments and restaurants open at breakneck pace in DTLA, the refurbishment of the historic Clifton's Cafeteria on Broadway feels achingly slow. Eater proves that work is moving with this photo that shows the original building's windows are now visible. When completed, Clifton's will feature several different concepts, including a tiki bar and a soda shoppe.

VENICE: Breakfast and lunch service were set to begin today at Abbot Kinney's newest hip restaurant, FEED Body & Soul (dinner follows on Monday). It features an organic menu with chicken, meat, and eggs all cooked on a French rotisserie oven. A second-floor patio and all-organic drink menu are also part of the deal.

LOS ANGELES: Our pals at Eater are also celebrating Whale Week, and have checked into the city's most expensive restaurants. Most of the venues are clustered in the power corridors of SaMo, WeHo, Beverly Hills, Culver City, and DTLA.
