For a while there, the fancy condo section of The Montage Beverly Hills (and its attentive staff) were the province of just one man: a Beverly Hills developer named Larry Field. The project opened in lean 2008 but has had better luck over the past year or so--several units sold in 2012 and oil heiress Ariadne Getty bought one unit on the seventh floor for $14.25 million. Now the rumor mill (aka the fabulous Real Estalker) hears that Oprah Winfrey may have bought a pied-à-terre in the building for somewhere around $14 million. It's completely unclear which unit she may have bought (the condos are on floors six through eight), but for comparison, Getty's unit has four bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, a media room, balconies, and all of the fanciest finishes in 5,781 square feet (HOA fees were listed as a hefty $5,549 per month). All of the units come with soundproofing, a dedicated residential entry (and two dedicated elevator banks), separate parking with a minimum of three spaces per unit, and access to the hotel's concierge, valet parking, fitness facilities, and pool.
