The LA Times is making a little bit of a big deal over a mysterious campaign sign on the side of the 5 Freeway promoting the reelection of City Attorney Carmen Trutanich, because Trutanich has made a crusade out of taking on illegal supergraphics and other billboards. The Department of Building & Safety says they've already looked into the sign (which the campaign itself says it has nothing to do with) and that it "appears to be legal because it is attached to an existing sign that has a permit."
