Cool Coffee on Melrose Place, Echo Park Loses City Sip, Junior's Replacement in Westwood, French Explosion in DTLA

WEST HOLLYWOOD: Melrose Place just got a hip new coffee shop/lunch place: Alfred opened this week, serving coffee, tea, and pastries alongside a working fireplace and live music on Fridays. Oh, and the workers' uniforms were designed by Rag & Bone.

ECHO PARK: Things aren't so cheery in Echo Park, where the owner of City Sip announced the wine bar is closing on January 31 (open for private events in February and March, though).

WESTWOOD: Back to the good news: Lenny's Deli will replace Junior's Deli near Westwood Boulevard and Pico, which sadly shuttered late last year. No word on when Lenny takes over, though.

DOWNTOWN: DTLA's hot foodie scene is seeing an explosion of French restaurants, with Spring, Coco Laurent, and now, Le Petit Paris, will open near Fourth and Spring. The restaurant will be the first American version of a Cannes institution.
