Crenshaw Line Windfall for Area Church?

New, 8 comments

The Crenshaw Line light rail will soon name a contractor and full-on construction is set to go this year. The Daily Breeze provides an update on the project, an 8.5-mile line to connect the Green Line to the Expo Line in 2018, and mentions this interesting tidbit: the West Angeles Community Development Corporation nonprofit, "together with the 25,000-member West Angeles Church that it's affiliated with, own about a dozen acres of land on the proposed transit line." Considering that land around the Expo Line extension in Santa Monica is going at seven times its previously assessed values, the church is sitting pretty. [Daily Breeze]
