Development Battles

New, 22 comments

Neighborhood Councils may have complained this week that no one takes them seriously, but maybe someone in the planning department is listening after all. Two weeks ago, the Mid City West Community Council's Planning and Land Use Committee voted to reject a developer's plans for a five-story mixed use development on La Cienega near the Beverly Center, and now the Planning Commission staff agrees. While in favor of some of the developers requests, the staff report recommends against a change to the zoning that would allow the proposed 67-foot building to be built. The Commission is set to vote next week. [Curbed inbox, previously]
