The city's neighborhood councils would like some actual authority, it turns out. The groups are purely advisory, but the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners has "voted to send letters to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the City Council asking that policies be put in place requiring inclusion of the city's 95 Neighborhood Councils in major policy decisions." This is all fallout from the proposed street repair bond measure, which ended up being sort of surprisingly controversial. [LADN]
