All is not well with Metro's plans to restore the 1892 Lankershim train depot in North Hollywood. Asbestos and lead paint were removed from the site in 2012, "but the next phase, which includes rehabilitation of the structure and some seismic work, is being pushed back because the two firms that responded to requests for bid charged more than the $1.7 million to $2.3 million Metro had allocated, said Diana Sogomonyan, assistant contract administrator with Metro." Metro may start accepting bids on the remaining work later this month. [NoHo Patch, previously]
