Friday "Fun": Here is an Enormous List of LA Land Use and Development Acronyms

New, 4 comments

Sometimes the overwhelming number of acronyms being thrown around in LA's planning circles is enough to make even the most devout custodians of the language say WTF? As if the maze of regulations and stakeholders controlling Los Angeles's land use decisions wasn't disorienting enough, many of the key players don't even go by names--instead, they use a string of letters standing for words that we assume mean something to someone somewhere. (The host of acronyms competing for the Sixth Street Viaduct rebuild project is a good example.) To help, we compiled the following list of land use-policy related acronyms. We don't claim that it's exhaustive, but it's definitely exhausting, so if you have energy to spare, feel free to add more in the comments. (And abbreviations are another whole story, ok?)
