Median Rent for a Two-Bedroom in Venice is Whopping $3,690

New, 10 comments

For his latest analysis of neighborhood rental prices, broker/blogger Moses Kagan heads way out west to Venice (his earlier efforts have focused on the eastishside--Echo Park, Silver Lake, Highland Park, Atwater Village, Los Feliz). Venice, predictably blows all the North Central/NELA neighborhoods out of the water, median-price-wise. Here are the findings (based on Craigslist listings):

-- Median rent for a studio was $1,275.
-- Median rent for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom was $2,575.
-- Median rent for a two-bedroom was $3,690.
-- Median rent for a three-bedroom was $4,300.
-- Median rent for a four-bedroom was $5,825.

Hot damn! The most expensive listing was for a two-bedroom penthouse leasing at $12,500; the cheapest was a studio with a shared bathroom leasing at $900. Kagan also notes that "Usually, apartments don't rent until the third weekend of the month. But when I went back to pull out the best deals to post here [on September 17], all of the ones I liked were already taken." So in conclusion: Venice is hot as hell.
