After years of rumors, it's almoooost confirmed that Fresh & Easy is moving into the former Pioneer Market at Sunset and Echo Park Avenue, which closed in 2004 after 60 years of business (a Save A Lot store replaced Pioneer, but closed last year). Eastsider LA says officials from the British chain are now pulling permits, including ones for signage on the Walgreens-adjacent space. Should it open, Fresh & Easy would be Echo Park's only chain grocery store other than a Vons on Alvarado. [Eastsider LA, image via]
