Nothing says gentrification like Urban Outfitters and Brigham Yen reports that the Philadelphia-based retailer is talking with city officials about moving into the historic Rialto Theater on Broadway. The 1917 venue is mostly gutted now, following damage from the Northridge quake, so getting a bunch of t-shirts, ironic coffee table books, and skinny jeans into the space wouldn't be as big a deal as, say, wedging a Zara into The Palace. This is just the latest big move coming to Broadway, which is also prepping for an Ace Hotel, a streetcar, and the revamping of several theaters. [Brigham Yen]
