Via Eastsider LA come new renderings of the LAPD's Northeast Division station in Glassell Park (the old ones are here)--the design phase for the new building is expected to be finished up this December. The department is planning a 52,000 square foot, two-story building right next to the current station, which sits on top of some nastily contaminated soil; the project also includes the widening and improvement of San Fernando Road, according to a recent report from the Bureau of Engineering. Once the new station is finished (in 2015), the old station will be demolished and the site will be turned into a parking lot. The new building was designed by Gruen Associates.
