Hey, guess what, rich people are doing a-ok in this real estate market, according to a new "Luxury Market Report" from Coldwell Banker, which found that "exclusive ZIP codes in California are among the most active luxury real estate markets for homes listed and/or sold at $10 million and above between June 2011 and June 2012." Beverly Hills had the most house sales over $10 million in that period--21 total. Santa Barbara and Malibu came in second and third, with 12 and 10 respectively. Malibu is a little cocky though: it came in first for houses listed (but not sold) above $10 million, with 66. Beverly Hills was second and Bel Air was fourth. (See all the numbers down below.) Coldwell also released a list of significant $10 million+ sales from Coldwell brokers, but only used listing prices, weirdly--still, Westside juggernauts Jade Mills and Joyce Rey sit atop the list with a $55 million listing (Possibly the gold-doorknobbed megamansion on Sunset? It ended up going for $34.5 million).
