The permit-hating creator of Phonehenge West, that 13-structure folk art complex up in Acton, was sent to jail last week "for failing to prove he can't repay thousands of dollars in fines and fees he owes Los Angeles County." Alan Fahey was convicted of building code violations last year and this spring was ordered to pay the county $83,488 for demolish the unsafe Phonehenge (which he had failed to do). The judge thinks he's hiding assets; he was released on bail Friday night. [LAT]
