Think of the Beethoven

New, 15 comments

Angelenos finally got their day with the FAA yesterday to complain about non-emergency helicopter noise (which is largely unregulated). About 250 people showed up in Sherman Oaks to vent--among them was County Supe Zev Yaroslavsky, who appealed to culture: "Last Thursday, an unidentified helicopter drowned out a violin solo of Beethoven. Concerts and future recording contracts are at stake, Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky said. 'This was an outrage,' Yaroslavsky told FAA officials, playing a recording of the Hollywood Bowl downdraft." A report on the helicopter issue should be out within a year. [LADN, previously]
