Skid Row will get another round of power-washing and disinfecting later this month, the Downtown News reports. A Contagion-like scene played out in June, with people in hazmat suits using high-powered hoses to remove human waste and other filth from the area. On August 13 through 17 and 20 through 21, the folks in masks return to clean up the streets, with plans for "spot cleanings" every Wednesday until October. After that it's not clear what will happen, but the Public Works department is assessing whether there's money to conduct quarterly power-washes and twice-monthly spot cleanings. [Downtown News]
