The day after the LA Times ran a story about Holmby Hills residents who are so fed up with potholes that they're trying to secede from LA and join Beverly Hills, one of the potholes mentioned in the story has been patched. Mysterious! A rep for City Councilmember Paul Koretz says the request for the fix was months old, that all of the streets in question were scheduled to be resurfaced in the next year, and that most street paving is funded by a state gas tax (not property taxes).
