Bel-Air Bar & Grill Returning, LAX Gets Pucked, Umami Opening at Grove, Parish Sets Up in DTLA

BEL AIR: Susan Disney Lord, Walt's niece, picked a good time to renovate her restaurant, the Bel-Air Bar & Grill (during the 405 construction project). After closing in April 2011, the restaurant intends to reopen in November. Interestingly, "Lord also purchased the adjoining building out of which she will run the Roy Disney Family Foundation." The foundation building will have overflow space for the restaurant.

WESTCHESTER: Exciting news at LAX: a sit-down, formal restaurant from Wolfgang Puck soft-opened in Terminal Seven in July. Though still called Wolfgang Puck Express, this establishment looks inviting and upscale. An official launch is scheduled for September 13.

FAIRFAX: Umami Burger's flagship restaurant at The Grove opens Monday morning, with seating for 185 people inside and out. Kanner Architects appears to have done a nice job turning around that weird pink place that housed the defunct Wonderland Bakery.

DOWNTOWN: The much-anticipated Parish opened on Friday for dinner service in the old Angelique space. The English gastropub has some serious pedigree, with folks from Venice's acclaimed Tasting Kitchen and Gjelina contributing to its food, drinks, and design. Supper goes from 5:30 to 12:30, the bar stays open until 2, and lunch and brunch arrive soon.
