Miracle Mile Slowdown Could Take a While

New, 9 comments

Efforts to bring traffic calming measures to busy Hauser and Sixth Street could be slowed down by environmental studies, according to the Park La Brea News. Though the city's transportation committee endorsed safety measures and the City Council followed suit yesterday, it could take a year to install a turn lane on Sixth because of an apparently necessary environmental impact report on the parking impacts. For now, city officials will begin work on a "staggered red light," in which both directions of a light are stopped for a short period of time. [Park La Brea News, image via]
