Penthouse in Koreatown's Historic Richardson Apartments

New, 34 comments

Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #847, Koreatown's Richardson Apartments have been featured in David Gebhard and Robert Winter's An Architectural Guidebook to Los Angeles, as well as Sam Hall Kaplan's LA Lost & Found. Built circa 1940, the streamline moderne complex is believed to have been designed by Milton J. Black. Located on West Eighth Street at Gramercy, the four-level complex contains 12 rental units, including a pair of two-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouses, one of which is currently available. Per the Craigslist posting, the available unit features hardwood floors, casement windows, crown moldings, a formal dining room, built-in cabinetry, a wet bar, "rooftop deck overlooking downtown Los Angeles, secured parking for 2 cars, and on site laundry." Annoyingly, the ad is bereft of interior photos; however, interested parties can find some in this 2009 LA Times feature. Monthly rent for the 1,000 square foot unit is $2,395.
