Plans were all set in North Hollywood for the Whitnall Gardens Demonstration Project, which would've turned a power line easement into "a pedestrian-friendly garden with drought-tolerant plants, drinking fountains and a walking path"--there was even a groundbreaking last year--but somewhere along the way, the money dried up and the area switched Council Districts. So what do we have on "the stretch of Whitnall Highway between Clybourne Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard"? A dirt lot, natch. [North Hollywood Patch, image via]
