Work is moving along on the refurbishment of Echo Park Lake, with completion scheduled for May, reports Eastsider LA. The news comes via a neighborhood meeting last night that addressed concerns like dust coming off the dry lakebed--workers will water the excavated dirt so it doesn't blow into the mouths of residents. Other tidbits: trash cans, benches, lotus beds, and new lighting for the fountain will be installed before the reopening, while the lake's island will be lined with rocks. [Eastsider LA]
