The City Council's Transportation Committee approved a plan earlier this week that would remove 540 parking meters from streets in San Pedro and 105 meters from Wilmington. The plan, mulled by the local Chamber of Commerce back in March is aimed at attracting visitors to struggling-to-gentrify area. Meanwhile, the City Council has voted to add 247 meters in Palms and 190 in Westchester. [LAT]
