Work on LAX's brand new Tom Bradley International Terminal replacement has been underway for a while, but now the curb side is being brought up to date too--a big project to replace the terminal's canopies, outside escalators, signage, and street lamps got underway today. But what's one more headache at LAX (work will block vehicle access to the first departure-level entrance)? City News Service says the new canopies will "mirror the architecture of the new international terminal," while the LA Times says they'll "fit modern architectural themes." The new Tom Bradley has an undulating wave-like design with lots of glass. The canopy project is set to wrap up in spring 2013.
