The Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council is definitely going to make some other neighborhood councils jealous--the Southern California Association of Governments has awarded a $121,956 Compass Blueprint grant to DLANC "to identify ways to make the area more livable, sustainable and prosperous," according to the Downtown News. DLANC will work with engineering and design corporation AECOM (which is headquartered at City National Plaza) to plot a vision for Downtown, which has seen a well-documented surge in residential population and commercial development in recent years (heck, Downtown's Historic Core even won the prestigious 2011 Curbed Cup for neighborhood of the year as voted by Curbed readers).
