We knew it was too good to be true--an appeal has been lodged against the proposed Venice Beach zipline. The city's Bureau of Engineering already approved the project--which will zip riders from Horizon Avenue to 17th Street--but allowed appeals to be filed by June 13. A hearing will now be held at City Hall on July 27 to allow for the airing of the grievances. The initial thought was to have the ride considered by the California Coastal Commission at its August meeting, and open by Labor Day, but that now appears uncertain. [Venice Patch]
