Per its listing, this enchanted "castle-like estate" on a 1.6-acre lot in easternmost Tarzana was designed in 1989 by architect Ron Firestone. Being heretofore unfamiliar with Mr. Firestone's work, we thought we'd take a peek at his firm's website, only to find pages of dummy text like something out of The Shining, e.g., "This amazing property This amazing property This amazing property" and so on. So, uh, you might wanna update your site, Ron--just a friendly suggestion. But back to this amazing property, which boasts "a grand motor court with 15 private garages, perfect for a car collector," along with "grand scale rooms ... marble and inlaid granite floors, gold leaf hand painted moldings, grand floating staircase and elevator ... slate decked pool, spa gazebo, covered BBQ station," and a detached 1,700 square foot guesthouse, "perfect for staff quarters, guests, media or office." Trotted out to market a little over a year ago for $8.9 million, the 11,838 square foot pad's price tag has now been slashed to $6 million, and isn't that just grand?
